By now, you can't have failed to notice the images and animations on this site and in the Gallery... and of course they were all created using Illusion. Because you can load any image as an emitter within Illusion, you can take your existing logos, images or text and add effects to them or make a brand new animation with a few mouse clicks.

There are a wealth of graphics applications out there that will help you convert your particleillusion output to a format suitable for the web - however you want to display it.

For example, you could use Flix to convert your particleIllusion .avi video output to a Flash .swf file which you can embed in your web page... just like the clip at the bottom of this page, in fact! Flix uses some advanced tracing methods to convert a raster video file into a vector based shockwave flash animation. You can get vastly different results from it depending on the settings you use, so play around with it and see what you get! Soon we'll do a tutorial on getting optimum performance and quality from Flix for your particleIllusion animations.

The advantage of doing it this way is that your video can become much smaller in size and can start streaming immediately rather than having to wait for the movie to load before it can be played, so it's an ideal way of creating some very nifty banners and buttons!

Which is exactly what the first article in our Tutorials and Tips section is about - How to be flash in Flash! gives you information and tips on converting your .AVI particleIllusion output to a Shockwave Flash .SWF file you can use on the web.

Matrix Drop Text Effect
Or you could use Paintshop Pro's Animation Shop to convert either a sequence of bitmaps or an .avi video exported from particleIllusion into an animated gif. Like the one on the left! Admittedly you will tend to have to sacrifice some quality (and frames!) to get it down to a reasonable filesize, but again playing around with the output settings (in Animation Shop) can pay dividends. We'll also post a tutorial soon on working with gifs.

We'll be adding more examples and information on how you can use particleIllusion for the web soon.
